ANM, Staff Nurse, LHV-

The main goal is to decrease IMR & MMR and for that additional ANM, Staff Nurses & LHV is to be appointed. The Nursing Services, which normally constitutes the largest single group of hospital personnel and is the mainstay of organization, is responsible for providing comprehensive and continuing nursing care to all patient in collaboration with other health care personnel. In the Public Health Department, nursing section plays important role to provide the health facility at the remote area, also nursing care is the measuring unit of the quality of health facility. Under the NHM there are total three cadre of nursing are working in the health care sector there are 5132 ANM, 745 Staff Nurse and 698 LHV. They work at Sub Centres and PHC (Primary Health Centre)

Incentive/Awards–

May 12 is World Nurses’ Day’ the birthday of Florence Nightingale. On this day, the Florence Nightingale Award is given at the district level to the nurses who have done remarkable work in the health service in recognition of the work they done. At the district level sub-centre ANM and LHV at primary health Centre level as well as Staff Nurses at rural hospital, sub-district hospital and district hospital level Paediatric & Psychiatrist are awarded Florence Nightingale Award at district level. Five prizes are given per category.

Strengthening of Existing Nursing School –

Nurses are an important factor in providing essential health services to all the citizens of the state. Skill training for nurses done in all the nursing schools in the state. According to the standards of the Indian Nursing Council, the schools in the state must be fully equipped with the necessary facilities, facilities and manpower. To provide grants for equipment and manpower under the National Health Mission.
NHM has taken measures to improve the skills and knowledge of nurse through nursing schools. At present all the nursing schools in the districts are attached to Civil Hospital or Women Hospital and are under administrative control of civil Surgeon or Superintendent of the hospital. In Maharashtra there are ANM, GNM, LHV School and PHN Schools. Mobility Support for Nursing Schools (For Contractual Staff) and Contingency (Pol, Affiliation Fee, Telephone Payment, Water Supply Payment, Electrification Payment, Electrification Payment) Has been approved. Hiring of Support Staff & teaching Staff.

Skill Lab –

Skill labs have been set up in Nagpur, Pune, Jalna and Nashik in the state. The training session to be conducted in the Skill Lab is of 6 days duration and consists of 16 trainees per batch including 4 Medical Officers and 12 Nurses. Training sessions are conducted every month. The training includes detailed training and guidance on Antenatal Care, Intra-natal Care, Complication Management, New Born Care, Family Planning, Infection Prevention, Counselling and Documentation. After the completion of the training, each trainer working in the skill lab is required to make a Mentoring Visit for 5 days (10 Health Institutions) every month. approved teaching & Support Staff.

National Nodal Centre –

To improve the quality of Pre Service Education for nursing and midwife cadre in the state of Maharashtra and neighboring state thereby contributing to strengthening of the high impact Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Family Planning intervention at the facility and Community level. One of the most important activates of a National Nodal Center is conducting customized 6 week training to build the capacity of nursing faculties from Govt. ANM/GNM schools by improving their facilitation and clinical skills as well as updating their knowledge related to latest MNCH and FP practices. approved teaching & Support Staff.

New Skill Lab Dharashiv & ALS/BLS –

The Central Government has approved the establishment of a new divisional skill lab at Dharashiv district and two Advanced Life Support/Basic Life Support (ALS/BLS) skill labs at Nagpur & Pune health and Family Welfare training centers the financial year 2024-2025.
