    Introduction and Objectives

    • Government of India has launched Comprehensive Primary Health Care campaign to address critical issue of access to health care. Comprehensive Primary Health Care(CPHC) is essential to avert disease and promote well-being, ensure continuity of care and enable gate-keeping so as to reduce the burden on secondary and tertiary level facilities, thus saving costs to system and the individual.

    • AAM delivers, these set of comprehensive services through team based approach. A primary health care team trained and equipped in a set of skills and redesigned work processes to ensure a continuum of care that places emphasis on preventive and promotive health.

    • To provide CPHC near to the community, State is moving forward with strengthening of all the SCs, PHCs, UPHCs, Ayush facilities and UHWCs as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs along with additional provision of health promotion & wellness activities like Yoga. State is committed to transform all SCs, PHCs & UPHCs Ayushman Arogya Mandirs

    The AAMs provide preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative care for a package of 13 services as below

    1. Care in Pregnancy and Child-birth.
    2. Neonatal and Infant Health Care Services
    3. Childhood and Adolescent Health Care Services.
    4. Family Planning, Contraceptive Services & other Reproductive Health Care Services
    5. Management of Communicable Diseases: National Health Programmes
    6. General Out-patient Care for Acute Simple Illnesses and Minor Ailments
    7. Screening, Prevention, Control and Management of Non-communicable Diseases
    8. Care for Common Ophthalmic and ENT Problems
    9. Basic Oral Health Care
    10. Elderly and Palliative Health Care Services
    11. Emergency Medical Services including Burns and Trauma
    12. Screening and Basic Management of Mental Health Ailments
    13. Yoga & Ayush
    14. Teleconsultation
    • AAMs not only to expand the service package but also to create a perception in the community that the facility is close to them, offers a platform for preventive and promotive action. Apart from service provision, key interventions envisaged under AAM include Population Enumeration, Creation of Family folders and to assure continuity of care, diagnostic services, regular refills of drugs for chronic diseases, access to Tele- Consultation Services and use of IT platforms. State has already started implementation of population based screening, control and management of Hypertension, Diabetes and Cancers (Oral, Breast & Cervical)

    • The SC-AAMs are headed by a Community Health Officers with a primary health care team including ANMs, MPW (M) and ASHAs of the sub center area. Under CPHC-AAM programme BAMS, BUMS & Nursing graduates are being appointed as Community Health Officer.

    Tele-consultation Services

    • Under CPHC AAM Programme, Teleconsultation service has been started in the year 2019-20 at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (sub-centres, primary health centres and primary health centres in urban areas). Teleconsultation Facility has been started as HUB and Spoke Model. Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been termed as Spoke and Hubs have been the district hospitals. The hub is attended by five MBBS medical officers and three specialist medical officers (Gynaecologist, Physician and Paediatrician). The Community Health Officer of Sub Center and Medical Officer of PHCs and UPHCs are taking an Opinion from the District Hospital HUB. The MOHFW has shortlisted a telemedicine application called e-Sanjeevani for all of the country to start Teleconsultation services. This application is developed by C-DAC, Mohali.

    • The Telemedicine Department has been started in District Hospitals, Sub-District Hospitals, Rural Hospitals, Sub-Center, PHCs and UPHCs. Currently 11,247 Health Facilities are Using Teleconsultation Services in state.

    • Till date 2,06,23,923 Patients has been referred through Teleconsultation Services.

    Ayushman Bhava Campaign
    First Phase:

    • ‘Ayushman Bhavah’ campaign is envisaged to saturate all identified health care services in every village/ town in line with the commitment of Hon’ble Prime Minister to ensure reach to the last mile and enable access to health care services to everyone in the society.
    • This ambitious campaign “Ayushman Bhavah” is being implemented from 17th September’ 2023 to 31st March’ 2024 in all districts of Maharashtra. The objective of the campaign is to provide quality health services in rural and urban areas and create awareness about various health care schemes.
    • Under Ayushman Bhava Campaign health mela is being organized once in a month at every Sub-Centre, Primary Health Centre and Urban Primary Health Centre.
    • Under this Campaign till 31 st March 2024 a total footfall of 1,97,58,559 registered at AAM level with an average footfall of 77.
    • Under this Campaign till till 31 st March 2024 a total footfall of 23,39,533 registered at CHC with an average footfall of 398.

    Blood Donation Campaign

    • Blood Donation Camps organized at all AAM, CHC and other public places. Till 01st Nov’ 2023, 2735 blood donation camps registered on e-Raktkosh Portal with around 85,040 donors donated blood.

     

    Pledge for Organ donation

    • Instructions given in all Public health institutions, Gram Sabhas, Schools, Colleges, Offices, to take pledge for organ donation.
    • Till date 31,739 individual registered pledge for organ donation on NOTTA portal.

    Second Phase :

    • The first phase of the ambitious campaign “Ayushman Bhava” ended on March 31, 2024 and the second phase started from April 1, 2024 is called Ayushman Arogya Shibir.
    • Under this campaign, a total of 62,65,468 beneficiaries have benefited at Ayushman Arogya Mandir level and 5,20,951 beneficiaries at CHC level.

    Wellness activities –

    • Wellness is integral to the expanded range of comprehensive primary health care services offered at AAM.
    • Wellness is aimed at keeping the country youth fit, so that, they do not have to deal with
      lifestyle-related diseases.

    • Promotion of Health Care includes Eat Right Campaign, Fit India Movement, Yoga, Wellness activities on Annual Health Days and Health Melas.
    • Every month 5 yoga sessions to be conducted at each AAM through trained Yoga Trainers.
    • Till date 17,83,808 wellness sessions conducted with a total of 3,29,16,804 individuals benefited.
    • Under Ayushman Arogya Mandir the Eat Right Eat Safe movement is one of the major components of the step towards a healthy India.
    • ‘Eat Right India’ Movement, is a movement to help the community make safe and healthy food choices.
    • Under this movement, an Eat Right Toolkit box has been developed for primary healthcare teams at all AAM. With the help of this tool kit primary healthcare teams will learn and conduct IEC activities in the community.
